Moore Spence Jones has a powerful in-house GIS department to complement its environmental and geotechnical divisions. The GIS software utilised by Moore Spence Jones comprises ArcGIS and Spatial Analyst from the ESRI suite of software.

A GIS can be described as an organised collection of computer hardware, software, geographic data and personnel, designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyse and display all forms of geographically referenced information. GIS is an analytical tool allowing the user to identify the spatial relationships between various map features.

Moore Spence Jones GIS division is capable of performing simple to advanced GIS tasks, including mapping, data management, geographic analysis, data editing and geoprocessing.
